Upgrade: Personal IAS
A new version of the Personal IAS® software is now available.
Benefit from this robust, easier-to-use software aimed to deliver ever more power and convenience to your print quality analyses!
The much-improved Personal IAS® software delivers that quick, easy measurement capability that you want - without sacrificing the quality of data. Comes equipped with streamlined analysis tools and features, the new software enables measurement flexibility and productivity at your fingertips. Check out the list below for recent improvements made to the Personal IAS®!
Much Simpler Data Logging
"One-Tap" Data Logger (1.08)
Forget about the cumbersome procedure of launching and setting up the separate Personal IAS Database program for collecting measurement data. With the new logging feature, simply tap "in" and "out" of the logging mode directly from the main software and record data in text (.txt) files. Transfer data to your desktop PC for retrieval using Microsoft® Excel.
Enhanced Dot Capabilities
Faster and More Complete Turnaround
Automatic threshold calibration (1.08)
No more need to perform the extra Dot Calibration procedure for analyses using relative thresholding! A single tap of the Dot Button automatically gathers the reference data for relative thresholding and completes the dot analysis on the same image within seconds.
Automatic dark/light dot detection (1.08)
Software automatically detects whether the measurement is for dark dots or light dots, eliminating the need for manual settings.
Addition of dot coverage, screen ruling, and screen angle results (1.08)
Don't miss these key measures of print quality whether on print or plate! Utilize Dot% results to study dot gain and generate compensation curves for your printing plates. Check screen rulings and angles for proper dot alignments.
The Right Tool for the Right Dots
Stochastic (FM) screen analysis (1.09)
Measure stochastic or frequency modulated patterns just as accurately using the specialized Stochastic Screen analysis, which uses a special algorithm allowing measurement of irregularly spaced dots.
New Measurement Features
Measurement Units Selection (1.18)
The flexibility in reporting measurement results in µm or mil!
Relative Density Measurement Option (1.18)
Users may now select to measure the relative density (vs. absolute density) of line and large area features. Relative density is helpful, for example, in determining the density of ink on media.
Apparent Dot Area Computation (1.08)
A classic approach to studying tone value using the Murray-Davies equation.
Boundary Threshold Settings for Lines (1.18)
New options to adjust the boundary thresholds (outer, edge, density, and inner) enable more flexibility in line property analysis.
Fusing Quality Analysis (1.08)
Quantify the fusing quality of your electrophotographic samples subjected to the "Hard Crease Test" as defined by ASTM standard F1351-96!
Edge Quality Analysis (1.18)
Measure characteristics of the leading edge of a large printed block. This tool is useful in measuring, among other things, how well ink holds in the transition from one area (normally of the background) to a solid area.
Added Convenience and Productivity Features
Icon Colors (1.18)
Analysis buttons now change according to the current color filter selected!
Image Zoom Function (1.08)
Can't see those microprints on your image? The zoom function allows you to digitally zoom into your image up to 8 times for analysis. Use this function to sooth your tired eyes or help you define regions of interest on those small prints.
Individual R-G-B Channel Views (1.08)
Determine the appropriate color channel to use for your composite image by viewing the individual red, blue, and green components of the image.
Pre-Defined Sample Settings (1.08)
No need to juggle with measurement settings when switching to a new substrate. The Personal IAS® now comes with sample selections (print, positive and negative offset plates) associated with appropriate measurement settings. Simply specify your sample type prior to measurements.
Saving Measurement Settings (1.09)
Want a quick setup for your familiar sample? You may now save all the measurement settings created for a particular sample, or for a particular purpose and restore them in just one tap!
